West Fargo - The weather needs to warm for a new business in Eagle Run to rev its engine.
A small wood-framed building being constructed at 533 32nd Ave. W. won’t take long to finish. What’s needed is the parking lot.
The site is the future home of DCC Pre-owned, an extension of Dakota Chrysler Center of Wahpeton.
The used car lot will hold up to 75 cars, said Ted Hall, vice president of Dakota Chrysler Center, who will manage the new West Fargo lot, though he doesn’t expect to house that many.
Dakota Chrysler Center, located just west of Wahpeton on Highway 13, is a Ram, Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler dealership. The used lot in West Fargo will carry those makes and others, Hall said.
He hopes DCC Pre-owned will open in mid-April.
“The business here is better than tripled in the last three years,” Hall said. “We’ve added another lot here. We’re out of room.
“We wanted to get into Fargo. There’s obviously a lot of growth there.”
Hall said there are plans to put some sort of service center just to the west of the sales lot, though the details are still being worked out.
The exterior of the building under construction will look just like the neighboring Eagle Run Plaza, Hall said.
Plans filed with the city show the 50- by 50-foot building includes office space, a waiting area and kids’ play area. “It’s going to be pretty upscale, to be honest, for a used car building,” Hall said.
