GRAND FORKS — Border States Electric will soon have a new warehouse in Grand Forks, breaking ground on Tuesday for construction of a new $9 million facility.

The company said it plans to move into its new 39,000 square-foot building at 2311 South 48th Street in about a year.

Border States Electric, which sells electrical supplies to construction, industrial and utility customers, has been using its current space on Mill Road in Grand Forks since the 1960s, and CEO Tammy Miller said the company needs more room.

“We have definitely outgrown that facility and we need a bigger facility to have a more efficient operation for our staff and to better serve our customers,” Miller said.
