Youths intrigued by aerospace can learn more at the 2010 4-H Aerospace Event on April 25-26 in Grand Forks.
The North Dakota State University Extension Service, North Dakota 4-H Foundation and University of North Dakota Aerospace are sponsoring the program.
The program, which will be held at the UND John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences, will start at 1 p.m. April 25 and end by noon the following day.
Youths ages 12 to 15 will be able to:
- Learn about careers in aerospace sciences and the military.

- Learn the basics of aircraft structure, navigation and aerodynamics and principles of flight.
- Tour the school, including its altitude chamber.
- Learn about air traffic control.
- Take the controls in a digital aircraft simulator.
- See a radio-controlled plane presentation.
- Participate in a hands-on 4-H project or activity.
Youths must be accompanied by a chaperone. Event organizers recommend one chaperone for every four or five youth.
Youths and chaperones must register. The registration fee is $32 each for youth and chaperones. The fee includes materials, lodging, two meals and a snack.

Registration will run from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 25 at the Comfort Inn, 3251 30th Ave. S., Grand Forks. Attendees will have to make their own arrangements for transportation from the hotel to UND.
