Winner: Carson Wentz
Carson Wentz is a winner in just about every sense of the word. The former North Dakota State University and current Philadelphia Eagles quarterback plays the most high-profile and heavily scrutinized position in sports and is an emerging superstar in a professional sports league that still reigns supreme for the American audience.
He helped the Bison win consecutive national championships and successfully made the jump from Division I-AA football to the NFL as he's been a catalyst and potential MVP candidate for an Eagles team that looks like one of the best in the league.
Sure, that stuff can make Wentz a popular figure all across the country. But there's a lot more to Wentz than touchdown passes. North Dakota knew it. The rest of the country is learning it. He's a winner off the field just as much as he is on it.
His humble nature, selflessness, faith and low-maintenance personality make him incredibly likeable. He's relatable. His personality seems to epitomize North Dakota and through his elevation to mega stardom, those roots have remained.
Of course, it doesn't hurt that he's also really good at throwing the football.
