FARGO — West Acres has cancelled all scheduled events throughout the remainder of March, but the shopping center will remain open for business, according to a Facebook post Thursday afternoon, March 12.
Officials do, however, plan to make a few operational changes in response to the spread of the coronavirus.
"We are taking additional safety measures including in our cleaning procedures, and as a cautionary step we are cancelling scheduled events through the remainder of March. Our stores are also being given the power to adjust their operations, including being open or closed, based on what is right for them," read the post attributed to CEO Brad Schlossman.
The shopping center has ramped up the frequency of cleaning routines, especially in high-traffic areas. Hand sanitizer stations have also been added throughout the mall.
West Acres also asks customers who are not feeling well or have been exposed to COVID-19 to stay home.
Officials continue to monitor updates from the CDC and World Health Organization and will keep the public updated of its plans at www.westacres.com.
