FARGO -- The United Way of Cass-Clay is on the hunt for a new president and CEO. Kristi Huber recently resigned her position to join Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota as its senior vice president and chief marketing officer. According to a release from BCBS, Huber will begin her new role June 1, 2021.

In a statement, Huber said she looked forward to returning to the insurance industry.

"Before joining the United Way team in 2011 as the resource development director, I was working in the insurance industry and working with companies and individuals as a broker,” shared Huber. “After serving the last five years as the president of United Way and for almost a decade in our community’s nonprofit space, it is exciting for me to be joining the BCBSND team. Their incredible team and mission-driven purpose to improve the care and health of individuals and families across the state of North Dakota truly inspires me. I am looking forward to working alongside this group of dynamic nonprofit leaders to continue to make a difference in the lives of our North Dakota neighbors."

In a statement provided by Kristina Hein-Landin, the United Way's lead content and public relations strategist, the nonprofit praised Huber for her "commitment, passion and drive" and wished her well in her new endeavor.

"During Kristi’s time as president & CEO, the organization has thrived and is positioned well for future success of meeting our community’s needs. Under her leadership, 2020 was the most successful fundraising campaign in United Way of Cass-Clay’s history which will result in progressing our goals of helping people in poverty across our community. Additionally, our organization completed a separate capital campaign and construction of a new home," the statement continued.
