What is a 'Young Professional'?
The Young Professionals Network doesn’t define young professionals, they define it as a mindset — a group of people who are interested in enhancing themselves and the future of the community.
"YPN has a huge focus on professional development and networking," said Lakoduk. "We schedule our events to allow our members to be active in their growth and be able to be focused at work."
An idea behind the Young Professionals Network is to give members the opportunity to meet people they might not otherwise meet and to learn about businesses they might not otherwise know about, while participating in networking events. The group also hosts a number of business training programs.
"I am so glad joined YPN when I got my first ‘big kid’ job. After college, you lose a lot of your network, and YPN gave me the opportunity to establish and grow my business network," said Danne Doering, a member of Young Professionals Network. "YPN had likeminded individuals who wanted to meet other professionals and network."
The group is designed for, but not limited to, 21 to 39-year-olds. Yearly membership fees are $45 for employees of Chamber-member firms and $75 for employees of non-member firms. A varying activity fee will be charged at select events.
