FARGO — It's been all hands on deck for plumbing crews in the Fargo-Moorhead area and crews with Laney's Inc. say sump pumps are the biggest problem.
If pumps fail, water can flood the lowest level of homes and cost thousands of dollars to clean up and repair. Replacing a sump pump can cost just a fraction of that amount.
Workers said the entire week has been busy, with plumbers responding to about 30 to 40 calls a day. One Laney's worker expects things to become more hectic still as snow starts to melt.
"More pumps. Lots and lots of sump pump issues. It's going to be a continuing issue until the water starts to recede," said service plumber Neil Anderson.
