MOORHEAD - Minnesota State University Moorhead officials announced today that American Crystal Sugar will donate $10,000 toward the university's July Fourth celebration.
American Crystal President David Berg contacted MSUM today about the donation to replace the $8,200 contribution the city of Moorhead eliminated earlier this week due to budget constraints.
The donation will support the fireworks display.
"On the heels of a very big crop year, we're happy to help when the situation allows and to be part of the community vibe," said Jeff Schweitzer, American Crystal's public relations manager.
