MOORHEAD - The board of directors of American Crystal Sugar Co. named Tom Astrup as president Wednesday.
Astrup will assume the role immediately, according to a news release from American Crystal.
Astrup, 47, has held several positions at American Crystal, including vice president of operations, vice president of finance and chief financial officer. He joined the company in 1994.
A University of North Dakota graduate, Astrup lives in Fargo with his wife, Stephanie, and their three children.
Astrup succeeds David Berg, who’s been American Crystal’s president and chief executive officer since 2007. Berg plans to retire in August and will retain his CEO title until then.
