Down Home’s mission is to completely furnish and decorate homes for families transitioning from homelessness into permanent housing. The $5,000 grant funded by the FM Area Foundation’s Community Response Fund of Cass and Clay Counties will support Down Home’s work to turn an empty space into a home to embrace, feel secure, and empower families in our community to succeed and ultimately break the cycle of homelessness.
The FM Area Foundation is the community foundation created by and for the people of Cass and Clay Counties. The FM Area Foundation helps people give back to the community and ensures the needs of the community are addressed now and in perpetuity. Working in partnership with individuals, families, businesses and professional advisors, the FM Area Foundation manages more than 400 charitable funds and provides grants to qualified nonprofit organizations and scholarships to students. The FM Area Foundation has been serving the community through philanthropy since 1960.
