MOORHEAD - Author Mel Robbins will be the keynote speaker for the eighth annual Women Connect event planned for June 1.

“We’re so excited to welcome Mel to the stage next summer,” Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Shannon Full said in a news release Thursday, Dec. 16.

“Mel has already inspired millions of women around the world with her advice on how to stop holding yourself back, overcome challenges and get what you want. We know she will inspire you too, and her message is perfect for the Women Connect platform,” Full said.

The event will be held 3:30 to 5 p.m. June 1 at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex, 1300 17th Ave. N., Fargo, on the campus of North Dakota State University.

Robbins is the author of the best-selling motivational book “ The 5 Second Rule ,” which was published in 2017. She has followed that with the book “ The High 5 Habit: Take Control of Your Life With One Simple Habit ,” which encourages people to care for and encourage themselves as much as they do for others in their lives.

She also hosted the daytime syndicated talk show, The Mel Robbins Show. That show started in 2019 on Sony Pictures Television and ran for a year, but was not picked up for a second season.

Robbins has spent a decade coaching and motivating people, offering advice and strategies to help people push through the challenges they face in life, work and love, the Chamber announcement said.

She is a co-founder and CEO of media company 143 Studios. And her TEDx talk, “ How to Stop Screwing Yourself Over ,” has been viewed by millions of people.

The presenting sponsor of this Women Connect event is Essentia Health.
