A man left for dead after a severe beating near Harwood, N.D., has been released from MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.
The Cass County Sheriff's Department confirmed Angel Guadalupe Cardena Cruz, 39, was released from the hospital.
However, sheriff's officials didn't confirm whether investigators have spoken to Cruz about the beating.
Cruz was left for dead in a water-filled ditch along a township road near Harwood.
Passers-by found Cruz late April 30 with a belt around his neck. He had been beaten severely, suffering facial and head injuries, and taken to the hospital.

The beating has left authorities searching for answers. They didn't find a weapon near Cruz or in his car, which was found nearby.
Investigators said they know little about Cruz but that he appeared to be searching for work in Fargo.
The beating remains under investigation and Cass County authorities said they have a handful of suspects in the case. No charges have been filed in the case.
