David and Beverly Rick founded Rick Electric in 1964; in the decades since, led by sons Greg and Denny, it has grown into one of the most successful electrical contractors and service companies in the region.

Rick Electric provides high-quality service for residential, commercial and industrial projects, be it a small residential job or large and complex undertakings such as the newly opened Nodak Insurance Football Performance Complex or the upcoming Peltier Complex, North Dakota State’s new agriculture research center.

How that level of success is achieved is simple, according to Greg Rick. “Good people, good service,” he said, adding that the company has many 20-30 veterans working in the field and in the office. “From huge projects in town here to the things you need done in your house, we do it all.”

  • Second place: JDP Electric Inc.
  • Third place: Interstate Electric
  • Fourth place: Grace Electric
  • Fifth place: City Wide Electric LLC

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
