Home Builders Care Charity Ride set Aug. 18
The Home Builders Care Charity Ride is scheduled Aug. 18.
Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Home Builders Association, 1802 32nd Ave. S, Fargo. Registration will also be available at 11 a.m. at E.L. Peterson Park, Pelican Rapids, Minn.
Proceeds benefit Home Builders Care of Fargo-Moorhead, the charitable arm of the HBA of FM.

ND Commerce Dept. reports program impact
The North Dakota Department of Commerce annual report of the North Dakota Centers of Excellence program shows results that have leveraged $32.9 million in funding into an economic impact of $538.8 million through June 30.
Specific benefits cited in an agency news release include:
- $538.8 million in estimated total economic impact to North Dakota's economy, including a direct impact of $184.6 million generated by the Centers and their partners;
- The creation of 973 jobs at an estimated annual payroll of $52.1 million;
- Private sector partnerships have been formed with 185 companies including advanced manufacturing, energy, technology, value-added agriculture, life sciences and unmanned aircraft systems;
- Twenty-one new or expanded businesses, including seven new spinoff companies, five companies that expanded to North Dakota and five companies that have expanded within the state.
- $32.9 million of the investment allocated to the program had been spent as of June 30 because projects are funded and dollars are spent only when the required match is available and the project is ready to move forward.

Peterson Farms Seed introduces video series
Peterson Farms Seed has introduced "Ag Bites," a weekly video series highlighting best practices for conditions and soils specific to the northern climate.
Adam Spelhaug, the company's agronomy manager, discusses timely agronomic issues while in the field on topics such as how to evaluate corn and soybean stands or determining whether to replant after hail damage.
