Valspar, NDSU student scholarships announced
The Valspar Corp. and North Dakota State University have awarded scholarships to students studying coatings and polymeric materials at NDSU for the 2014 academic year.
The following students will each receive $3,000 scholarships: Casey Orgon, Bemidji, Minn.; Adlina Paramarta, Java, Indonesia; Andriy Popadyuk and Olena Kudina, both from Lviv, Ukraine; and Alison Rohly, Lino Lakes, Minn.
Program offers phone, internet assistance
CenturyLink is participating in the government benefit program Lifeline to make residential telephone and internet service more affordable for eligible low-income individuals and family.

Home Federal Bank opens temporary office
Home Federal Bank has opened a temporary office at 4650 38th Ave. S., Fargo, until a permanent location is established in the near future.
Brent Wersinger has been hired as the Fargo-Moorhead regional president to lead and expand the bank's business development efforts.
Home Federal Bank operates 27 locations through South Dakota and Minnesota.
United Capital expands with new Fargo office
United Capital Financial Advisers has opened an office at 109 Roberts St., Fargo.
United Capital provides private wealth counseling services at 47 offices around the country. The office in Fargo is its first in North Dakota.
Paul Jarvis is the managing director of the Fargo office and Stacey Robinson is the relationship manager. Both previously worked at Bell State Bank & Trust.
Jarvis has over 10 years of experience in the wealth counseling industry and Robinson has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Hagen marks 40 years at engineering firm
Roger Hagen, a civil engineer with Houston Engineering in Fargo, celebrated 40 years with the company in November. He will move into semi-retirement in January.
He began employment with the company in November 1973 and has been responsible for project development, design, construction coordination and land surveys on municipal utility systems, rural water systems, private site plans, sport complexes and land development projects.
