Looking for a little motivation to clean out those closets this weekend? How about the promise of a little cash for that hard work?
For those who do not relish the idea of holding a garage sale, Fargo-Moorhead is home to several consignment shops that will pay you for your clothes.
A representative of the store will evaluate your items to determine what they might be able to re-sell in the store. Depending on the store policy, and sometimes your preference, you will either be offered cash on the spot or you can receive a portion of the sale price at a later date. What does not sell after a certain period of time is generally donated to area thrift stores.
Places like Kinder Kloset and Once Upon a Child specialize in re-selling gently used children's clothing, and there are at least four area consignment stores that carry women's apparel and accessories.
We've put together a list of stores for you that includes information about acceptable merchandise as well as consignment policies.

Payment: Consignors will receive 50 percent of the sale price. They can take the profit in cash or in-store credit. Items will be marked down 20 percent after 40 days, 50 percent after 60 days and 70 percent after 90 days.
