Hospice event raises nearly $134,000
Choice Financial's "Go Hawaiian for Hospice" lunch fundraiser, held June 27 in Fargo, generated $133,671 for Hospice of the Red River Valley. This year's event brings the five-year total amount raised to $362,453. Attendance was estimated at 2,300 people. The money raised provides care for patients and their families and supports HRRV's grief support services, as well as other nonreimbursed needs.

Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch receives grant
Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch in Fargo received a $6,000 grant from the Fargo Moorhead Area Foundation. The grant will be used to create two balanced learning classrooms at Dakota Memorial School, the on-campus school of Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch in Fargo. Balanced Learning environments include specialized workstations, special lighting, sensory tools and specially-trained staff to help improve learning and educational outcomes.
