Neuteboom chosen again for AP program

Rasmussen College Fargo-Moorhead Dean of Student Learning Rob Neuteboom has been selected by the College Board's Advanced Placement Program and educational testing service to serve as an AP reader for the second time.

College faculty and AP teachers from around the world will meet later this year in five locations around the United States to evaluate and score about 11 million free-response answers. Neuteboom will participate in the event in Louisville, Ky.

Essentia, Prairie Yarns collecting chemo caps

Essentia Health Cancer Center has partnered with Prairie Yarns to make and collect 50 knitted chemo caps for cancer patients.

The "50 Caps in 50 Days" challenge begins April 1 and completed caps will be collected by May 20.

For each hat donated, participants will be entered into a drawing for yarn and a pattern book.

Completed caps can be dropped off to Cheryl Backsen at the Essentia Health Cancer Center, 1702 S. University Drive, or at Prairie Yarns, 2607 S. University Drive, both in Fargo.

Innovate ND offers 'In the Zone' award

For the second year, Innovate ND will offer "In the Zone," a major award aimed at supporting and encouraging entrepreneurs with retail-based business ideas.

The award is sponsored by Fargo-based Kilbourne Group.

The winner will receive 1,500 square feet of downtown Fargo retail space rent-free for one year.

The Kilbourne Group will select the winner based on criteria including innovation, a winning business model and the ability to succeed as a retail location in a Renaissance Zone.

Waterford name changing to Touchmark

Waterford at Harwood Groves in Fargo will change its name later this year to Touchmark at Harwood Groves.

Waterford already is part of the Touchmark family. The ownership and management will not change.
