FARGO — The Divots at Edgewood restaurant is closing for good.

The announcement was made Friday, Nov. 1, in a statement from Mark Melby, the restaurant's managing partner.

The business near the flood-prone Red River will cease operations on Saturday, Nov. 16, the statement said.

"This last flood was the worst one so far. For Divots, it was even worse than 2009," Melby wrote, adding: "There is just too much emotional stress and financial impossibilities when the golf course is not at full strength."

Melby thanked the members of the Edgewood Men's Club and Ladies Club for their support over the years.

"Without the support and (camaraderie) of all of you, this wouldn’t have been possible to maintain for as long as we have," he said.

Divots has operated at Fargo's Edgewood Golf Course clubhouse since 2007.
