FARGO - The Fish and Chicken Shack announced Wednesday, Dec. 1, that it is open in north Fargo.

“We Are Open Today 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.!” a brief announcement on Facebook said.

The soul food restaurant at 3132 Broadway N. serves Chicago-style chicken and fish, according to an online menu.

The small building at 32nd Avenue North and Broadway has been home to a couple of restaurants. For many years, it was a Happy Joe’s Pizza & Ice Cream parlor. Most recently, it was open for about a year as MVP Pizza. It has been empty since early 2020.

The Happy Joe’s had been open 37 years on the north side, but closed in 2017 due to difficulty in attracting enough workers to staff the business.
Hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, the restaurant announced in early November.

Photos of the restaurant's menu are also posted on its Facebook page.
