FARGO — Fitness buffs might do well to look in at 235 Roberts St. N.
That’s where Fly Fitness, the 3,000-square-foot fitness studio, opened on Oct. 28. Signing up gets customers access to a broad range of services and classes: cycling, Cardio Barre workouts, yoga, high intensity, circuit, and TRX training, nine treadmills, cycling shoe rentals, and showering facilities.
Kelly Veit, Fly’s studio director, said open gym hours will also be available.
“We love the downtown vibe,” said Veit, who’d always wanted to be part of a downtown business. “We value and support the businesses that are moving down here. We really like to support local.”
The owners — Don Ron, and Luke Robson — wanted to start a family one.

It is locally owned, she said, although the founder, based in Lincoln, Neb., has a small portion of ownership.
“We didn’t franchise out,” Veit said, “but we do have operational and business and branding through them.”
Veit said it was Luke Robson who discovered Fly Fitness while working in Nebraska. He brought the idea back to North Dakota.
The dream of having an all-in-one studio in the downtown area became a reality this fall. Veit, who has worked for the family before, was tapped to be the studio’s director.
“We were all on board,” she said. “We flew down to Lincoln, showed up at Fly, and went to the classes. It just spiraled from there, and this is what was created.”
There’s also a boutique onsite, featuring sportswear, casual wear, gear and accessories.
Veit has a personal passion for fitness, and she wants to share it with as many people as possible.
“That’s my comfort; that’s my vibe,” she said. “That’s what I love to do.”
