FMWF Chamber announces 2022 ChamberChoice winners

Awards were given for Small Business of the Year, Business of the Year, Nonprofit of the Year, Young Professionals Best Place to Work, Emerging Business of the Year, Resilient Business of the Year and People's Choice.

FARGO — The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce announced its 2022 ChamberChoice Award winners in front of a sold-out crowd at its annual awards luncheon Friday, May 20.

Joe Schmit, an award-winning sports broadcaster, community leader, author and speaker, emceed the event at the Delta by Marriott in Fargo.

The award finalists and winners were selected by a panel of independent judges from the regional business community who evaluated accomplishments in the areas of business growth, innovation, creativity, community involvement and unique achievements relating to a specific business or industry.

The Chamber enlisted a number of well-known athletes and celebrities to tape congratulatory messages for this year's winners. They included NFL quarterback Brett Favre, "Dirty Jobs" host Mike Rowe, 2018 Miss America Cara Mund, musician Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line, actor Robert "The Todd" Maschio of the television program "Scrubs" and Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis.

Business of the Year

The Business of the Year Award honors a business with over 25 employees that uses its size to strengthen the economy and give back to the community.

President Dan Kadrmas accepted the award on behalf of TrueNorth.

Small Business of the Year

The Small Business of the Year Award recognizes a business with 25 or fewer full-time employees that is making a big impact in the community.

Owners Rob Mesteth and Brad Kosidowski accepted the award on behalf of Legacy Plumbing.

Nonprofit of the year

The award is meant to honor a nonprofit that improves the quality of life for area residents through the services they offer.

Executive Director Sarah Matthews accepted the award on behalf of Red River Children's Advocacy Center.

Resilient Business of the Year

The award recognizes a business that has overcome significant obstacles, pivoted making alterations in its business structure and function and/or courageously tried something new or different while maintaining continuous business operations.

CEO Jon Bogenreif accepted the award on behalf of Noridian.

Young Professionals Best Place to Work

This award recognizes a company that provides exemplary work and environment and benefits to young professionals. It invests in their young professionals, allowing them to take leadership roles and have a say in the management of the organization.

Marketing manager Kirsten Carolin accepted the award on behalf of Construction Engineers.

Emerging Business of the Year

This award honors a company of 25 or fewer employees who has been in business three years or less. It's considered a rising star due to the actual growth potential of its business, innovative products, services and outstanding commitment to the community and its employees.

Founder Dr. Nicholas Adams accepted the award on behalf of Center for Plastic Surgery.

People's Choice

The People's Choice Award was awarded to the nominee that garnered the most votes from the public during an online voting period.

President and CEO Kim Pladson accepted the award on behalf of the nonprofit.
