The winners were announced and honored in front of an engaged and supportive audience of over 600, consisting of Chamber members and community leaders. This year, 149 businesses were nominated for a 2023 award, with 55 successfully completing applications and becoming official candidates in their respective categories.

The award finalists and winners were selected by a panel of independent judges from the regional business community who evaluated accomplishments in the areas of business growth, innovation, creativity, community impact and involvement, and unique achievements relating to a specific business or industry.

Each award category has specific criteria that applicants must meet. The People’s Choice Award was determined from the nominee that garnered the most votes from the public during a two-week online voting period.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
