WEST FARGO - Great North Plaza is rapidly taking shape and leases are being accepted for this fall, a member of the ownership group said Friday, Sept. 4.
The 24,000-square-foot building at 3220 4th St. E., just off busy 32nd Avenue South, is managed by Great North Properties and will be the home for Great North Insurance Services.
The building has room for several other tenants on the first and second levels and there is underground parking available. Optimal Chiropractic has already committed to joining Great North, said Nick Killoran, managing partner for both Great North Properties and Great North Insurance.
Killoran, who founded Great North Insurance, said the company’s growth, low interest rates and a desire to remain in West Fargo - where the firm got its start - led to the decision to build.
“It’s been something we’ve been looking at. With the mortgage interest rates and the land, it just makes sense to pull the trigger,” Killoran said. “We wanted to stay there (in West Fargo) and we really like 32nd Avenue. We really like that area.”

In March 2019, Great North announced its acquisition of Corwin Insurance, which was then a subsidiary of Corwin Automotive Group. That doubled the size of the agency’s staff. There are now 17 employees, with plans to hire two or three more, Killoran said.
“We definitely need a new space,” Killoran said.
Killoran said the goal is to be moved in by mid-November. Great North Insurance is now at 675 13th Ave. E. Killoran said his other partners are Kane Hanson and Zach Bosh.
Great North Insurance got its start in 2010. It is a full-service insurance agency, offering property, casualty, auto, business, crop and hail, event, disability, life and health insurance services. According to the firm’s website, the company is licensed in 26 states.
The company was named the 2016 Small Business of the Year by the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce.
