EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. — Altru Health had to close its East Grand Forks clinic Monday, Jan. 13, after water from a burst sprinkler pipe flooded the office spaces in the building.
Officials weren't immediately sure what caused the pipe to break, but as of Monday afternoon, cold weather had not been ruled out.
Altru brought in contractors to get water out of the building, but some drywall may have to be removed and it could be a week before repairs are complete.
"It's only an estimate right now, but our goal is to be open and operational back at this clinic by next week," said Kari Jensen, Director of Quality and Safety. "We still have some assessments we need to do to finalize that. But that's our current estimated timeline."
The Altru Clinic in East Grand Forks may be closed, but patients can still be seen at other locations around greater Grand Forks.
Until the clinic is back up and running, Altru is redirecting patients to their other offices.
Patients can visit Altru's website for information on where to go for their appointments.
