Dawson Insurance hires Furness, McDaniels

Kari Furness has joined Dawson Insurance, Fargo, as a client safety administrative assistant, and Sharon McDaniels joined the agency as a commercial lines account assistant.

Furness previously worked in administrative support at Intercept EFT, was a document processing specialist at Integreon and a customer care associate at Microsoft, all in Fargo, She was also a veterinary technician at Petcetera Animal Clinic in Grand Forks. She graduated from North Dakota State University with a degree in veterinary technology.

McDaniels previously worked as a commercial lines customer service representative at First International Insurance and at Wells Fargo Insurance for 25 years.

Kudrna transfers to BCBSND Fargo office

Mitchel Kudrna has transferred to the Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota office in Fargo where he works in group benefits in sales, service and retention.

In 2012, he joined BCBSND as an account executive in its Dickinson office.

Kudrna graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, with a bachelor's degree in management.

Samuelson hired as office accountant

Samuelson has 23 years of accounting and business experience. Her most recent employment was at KVLY and KXJB in Fargo where she was the business

Chaffee promoted at Bell State Bank & Trust

Patrick Chaffee has been promoted to executive vice president and managing director of Bell State Bank & Trust's Wealth Management Division.

Chaffee joined Bell State Bank in 2012 as chief operating officer for the wealth management division. Chaffee is a certified public accountant, and before joining Bell State Bank spent his career working in the public accounting sector and financial services consulting industry.

Originally from Northwood, N.D., he is a graduate of the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks.

Seven new employees at ByteSpeed

ByteSpeed in Moorhead has hired Robert Ogan as network administrator, Marvin Calice and Matt Thompson as account managers, and Jake Rindahl, Dan Bitzan, Danny Mathison and Dustin Bentow as computer builders.

Ogan has 18 years of technology experience, including 15 years of working in education.

Calice has eight years of sales experience and Thompson has 10 years of sales experience.

Gary Ness joins Mead and Hunt

Gary Ness has joined Mead and Hunt's Fargo office as a senior project manager for land services.

Ness has more than 30 years of experience in the consulting industry. He is responsible for land survey operations in the greater North Dakota and Upper Midwest area, with a strong focus on client services, business growth and staff development.

Ness has led teams on projects for and/or involving North Dakota Department of Transportation, the Federal Aviation Administration and City of Fargo. He is a member of the North Dakota Society of Professional Land Surveyors and serves on the advisory committee at the North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton, for land surveying and civil technology.

Limvere previously was director of sales operations with Microsoft/APAC, Fargo.

Lenhart hired as supervisor at Spherion

Spherion Corp., a recruiting, staffing and workforce solutions provider, has hired Michael Lenhart as client service supervisor in the Fargo office.

Lenhart will specialize in light industrial areas, including assembly, production, manufacturing and warehouse and sales.

He has a bachelor's degree in business management from Rasmussen College.

Steinkopf was previously the equipment sales coordinator for the company. She graduated from Northwest Technical College. She worked in law firms and spent 16 years at Otter Tail Corp. as an executive assistant, HR assistant and HR benefits specialist.

Neels was previously a receptionist at General Equipment & Supplies. She has several years of administrative experience in the construction industry.

Giroux was previously an associate underwriter for QBE NAU Insurance. She attended Lake Region State College, where she majored in liberal arts and sign language.

Derkacht previously worked at U.S. Bank as a statement processor. She received an associate degree in business management, marketing and sales from Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Moorhead.

Lugo is a native of Fargo and built her career in Los Angeles while working in national radio with Rick Dee's Morning Show, specialty music event management and global sales at The Wall Street Journal.

Lugo has worked in Fargo for the past three years in various marketing and sales positions and is a graduate of North Dakota State University.

Discovery Benefits in Fargo has hired Samantha Martell as an integration analyst, Ben Kapel as an information technology service desk support specialist and Craig Lunde as an IT security specialist. Alex Schulze has been promoted to OnBase specialist.

Knust joins Eide Bailly with more than 10 years of business development and management experience in addition to more than 20 years of technology consulting expertise. Haugen was previously a senior program manager and senior design engineer in test lead at Microsoft. She graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, with a degree in mathematics and computer science.

Welch promoted to national account manager

Welch has an extensive background in the dock and lift industry having worked for ShoreMaster in multiple roles, most recently as manager of dealer relations and content creation.

American Crystal Sugar Co. has promoted Jami Melland to utility clerk in the Drayton, N.D., facility. The company has hired Bill Harris as a control systems engineer and Jason Aasand as the safety specialist, both at the East Grand Forks, Minn., factory, and Lynn Overend as the environmental compliance supervisor at the Crookston, Minn., factory.

Melland joined ACSC in 2012 and has held several roles including safety and sanitation lead, store specialist and materials and supplies handler. Melland previously worked at Arvato Digital Services on the Microsoft campus in Fargo as a senior transaction specialist and worked as a retail sales consultant for Sprint/Nextel in Fargo.

Harris graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and from Mayville (N.D.) State University with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. He has over four years of experience and most recently held the process control engineer position at Graphic Packaging.

Aasand has a bachelor's degree from NDSU in human development and education. He has 10 years of safety experience and has been working in the oil/gas industry for the past 14 years.

Overend has a degree in environmental geology from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, and has 14 years of experience in this field and most recently held the environmental scientist position at Grand Forks Air Force Base through AGEISS Inc. She also held positions at Minnkota Power Cooperative and ProSource Technologies.

Young named chief nursing exec at Sanford

Sanford Health Fargo has appointed Roberta Young as chief nursing executive.

Young has been with Sanford for 34 years and has experience in patient care, education and executive management.

She began her career at St. Luke's Hospital in Fargo in 1981. She has since served as a charge nurse/unit educator in the pediatric intensive care unit, coordinator for consumer health education and learning services staff education, patient care manager in oncology, director of medical and medical specialty units, vice president of cancer, medicine and palliative care, and most recently, vice president of transitional operations.

Young received a diploma in nursing from St. Luke's School of Nursing, Fargo, a bachelor's degree in nursing from Minnesota State University Moorhead and a master's degree in nursing administration from the University of Mary. She currently serves as president of the North Dakota Nurses Association.
