Hornbacher's asks customers to limit visits, leave family at home

FARGO — Hornbacher's is asking grocery shoppers to keep their distance from employees and to leave family members at home if possible to help limit the spread of coronavirus.

Stores are concerned about the number of groups shopping as a family, according to chain president Matt Leiseth.

"We are seeing families of four and five," he explained. "They are putting themselves at risk but also putting our team at risk."

Hornbacher's and Cash Wise stores, both owned by parent company Coborn's, have put up plastic barriers between shoppers and cashiers, but some customers are still reportedly getting too close to employees. The stores remind shoppers to keep their distance.

The stores also ask visitors to consider limiting the number of trips they make to the store.
