FARGO - If you're thinking about taking the plunge and joining the world of small-business owners, John and Shelly Lynn have a deal for you.

Since about 2000, the couple have owned the Whale of A Wash chain of local self-service car washes.

Now, they are ready to sell it, said John Lynn, who said his family also owns rental property and are selling the car washes to devote more time to that business.

The asking price is $3.3 million. That will land the buyer two Whale of A Washes in Moorhead and three locations in Fargo.

Lynn said the car washes operate year-round.

"My biggest competition in the summer is the water hose," he said.
