JAMESTOWN, N.D. - CareCentric Business Solutions laid off 42 people Thursday as part of a consolidation, an unnamed source said. Company officials did not confirm the layoff.
"We made a business decision to consolidate our Jamestown office into our Bloomington, Minn., billing operation," said John Williams, a senior vice president at CareCentric Business Solutions based in Atlanta, Ga.
Williams declined to comment further.
A person who worked for the company said 42 people lost their jobs Thursday. The person asked not to be identified out of fear of losing severance pay.
A formal gag order had not been issued for employees.
