Legacy Acres Event Center, Halstad, Minn.: A photo story

Siblings Stacy Christianson and Bryce Stromstad decided they had the skills to open an events venue near Halstad, Minn. She's been providing floral and decor to weddings for years and he can build, wire or fix just about anything.

Right after purchasing this dairy barn, originally built from a 1958 Sears kit, they caught this picture of a double rainbow leading to it. Stacy Christianson says it was like a sign that it was meant to be.

They basically had to gut the interior and start over again. However, the barn structure itself was in excellent shape.

Since Legacy Acres opened, it has become a site for numerous weddings, parties, craft workshops and even proms.

It is typically chosen by couples who prefer the rustic appeal of a country wedding.

The rural backdrop provides many options for wedding photographers.

While the barn is the main venue, Legacy Acres' owners have turned an old granary into an air-conditioned dressing room where the wedding party can get ready.

Stacy Christianson also draws on her event-decorating and floral-arrangement experience to provide those services as well, for an added fee.

The couple can opt for a portable outdoor dance floor if they want to dance under the stars.
