FARGO - Rose Creek Golf Course is getting a new restaurant partner.
Legends Sports Bar & Grill, owned by Moorhead residents Marissa West and Cody Parr, will operate the clubhouse eatery starting this golf season, the Fargo Park District, Rose Creek and Legends announced Tuesday, March 9.
Legends takes over April 4 from the current tenant, Big Erv’s at Rose Creek, according to Park District lease documents. The contract continues through the rest of the original contract to Dec. 31, 2022.
West and Parr own Legends Bar & Grill in south Moorhead. It was founded in 2018.
“What we’re hearing is that Cody and Marissa (are) going to take it to another level. They’re very excited about the banquet services. They’re very excited about offering things to the golfer, which again, we’re very excited about,” Carolyn Boutain, the Park District’s enterprise director said Wednesday, March 10. “Great people. Great partnership. We’re just really looking forward to enhancing what we already have going on out there.”

The transfer of the lease to Legends from Kelly Visto, the owner of Big Erv’s at Rose Creek and Big Erv's Bar & Grill, was approved by Fargo Park District commissioners Tuesday.
Visto also owns the Big Erv’s in Horace, N.D.

A friendship between the bar and restaurant owners helped the deal come about, Boutain said.
“As the story goes, Marissa last summer sat on the deck at Rose Creek and was enjoying the sunset and a drink, and said, ‘If I ever have an opportunity, I would like to own this place,’” Boutain said.
She shared that with Parr, who told Visto. “And so, voila,” Boutain said.
West and Parr are also partners in Murphy’s Pub, which is expected to open soon in the former O’Leary’s Irish Pub location in south Moorhead.
Boutain said the transfer of the FA Golf liquor license is moving through the city of Fargo’s approval process. “Still some hoops to jump through that way,” she said.
Visto took over operation of the restaurant at Rose Creek in 2019.
