FARGO-A downtown Fargo business is the best bookstore in North Dakota, according to a new magazine article that picked the top place to buy books in each state.
Real Simple magazine's list, published online earlier this week, gave the North Dakota honors to Zandbroz Variety, 420 Broadway. A short description in the article praises the store's back room that contains North Dakota-centric used books.
"Here, visitors can soak up the state's culture from local history to fiction by favorite regional authors," the description said.
Zandbroz has been a fixture of downtown Fargo since opening in 1991.
Real Simple picked children-focused bookstore Wild Rumpus in Minneapolis for Minnesota, while Rapid City's independent bookstore Mitzi's Books made the cut in South Dakota.
