The Midcontinent Media Foundation has approved $44,193 in grants to regional non-profit organizations.
The foundation is the charitable arm of the Midcontinent family of companies, including Midcontinent Communications.
Grants for $1,000 awarded in Minnesota include: Polk County Sheriff's Mounted Posse, Crookston; and the Clay County Historical and Cultural Society, Moorhead.
Grants for $1,000 (unless otherwise noted) in North Dakota included: Village Family Service Center, Devils Lake, $1,300; Fargo Moorhead Rotary Foundation for "Miracle League Field," Fargo; Harvey Park District; city of Leonard; Lidgerwood Progressive Development Corporation; Richland County Historical Society, Wahpeton; city of Wahpeton for Area CERT; and West Fargo Community High School.
Midcontinent is accepting applications through February 10 for the spring 2011 grant meeting.
