BISMARCK — Another $20 million in grant funds is being made available for North Dakota’s hotels, motels, lodges and resorts, which have been hit hard by the loss of revenue during the coronavirus pandemic.
Applications for the Hospitality Economic Resiliency Grant PLUS will open 10 a.m. March 9, the state Department of Commerce announced Friday, Feb. 26. The application forms will become available March 9, a department spokeswoman said.
Eligible businesses can apply for up to $40,000, though applicants with more than one eligible business may apply for up to $80,000 with a maximum of $40,000 to be used per location. Grant recipients are required to comply with ND Smart Restart protocols.
Funds must be used to pay for costs such as payroll, rent and utilities. Eligible expenses must have been incurred on or after March 27, 2020, and no later than Dec. 29, 2020.
The grant is not intended for private vacation rentals or bed-and-breakfasts who rent rooms, apartments, condos or homes to the traveling public through online marketplaces.
