North Dakota's nonseasonally adjusted unemployment rate for February was 4.8 percent.

That's a slight decline from January's 4.9 percent rate and lower than the

5.3 percent rate posted in February 2009.

The North Dakota rate continues to be considerably lower than the national 10.4 percent unemployment rate posted in February.

"January and February are generally the highest unemployment rate months of the year in North Dakota," said Michael Ziesch, Job Service North Dakota research analyst.
