MOORHEAD — A new children's museum for kids ages 8 and younger opened its doors to the public for the first time Monday, March 7.

The KidCo. Children's Museum at 814 Center Ave., Suite 3, is filled with kid-friendly activities. There is a tiny town where kids can play in a miniature police station, barbershop, construction site and bistro.

There's also a glow zone where kids can color in the dark with ultraviolet responsive markers and play glow-in-the-dark connect four.

Another highlight is a vacuum system that shoots scarves through a series of tubes.

KidCo. Children's Museum owner and curator Aaron Duma says the space was designed with parents in mind as well.

"We've actually thought about the parents in this scenario so we have charging stations and purse hooks throughout for the parents to chill and relax and still keep an eye on the kiddos," Duma said.

Duma also said the first group of kids to go through the museum seemed pretty impressed.

"When their eyes light up and they walk in and see everything that's going on, it totally feels like mission accomplished. And yeah, it's just really fun to see my kids get in here and see the community's kids get in here," Duma said.

KidCo. has a limited capacity for each of the several 90-minute play sessions they hold each day. This is done to keep things under control within the limited space in which they operate. To learn more, or to reserve a spot, visit playkidco.com .
