FARGO-The site of a former Lone Star Steakhouse here will see redevelopment that could include tearing down the existing building to put up a new retail or restaurant structure.

Duemelands Commercial Real Estate in Bismarck recently purchased the property, 4328 13th Ave. S., that had been a Lone Star Steakhouse from July 1993 until its closure on Nov. 6, 2016.

Jill Duemeland said the firm closed on the property in February and purchased it from its previous owner, Jim Adams of San Diego.

The existing building will more than likely be torn down to build something new on the site, she said, with demolition probably happening this summer. She said it's still unknown if the new building that will go up there will house a single tenant or multiple tenants, but the location seems like a good fit for either a retail store or a restaurant.

Duemelands plans to keep ownership of the property when it is redeveloped and leased to a new tenant, she said. The site also has the potential for a drive-thru window.
