FARGO — Air travel across North Dakota is seeing its highest number of passengers since the pandemic started.
The eight commercial airports across the state saw over 47,000 passengers in October. That is still half the number of passengers who traveled in October of 2019, but the highest numbers since the pandemic began.
In March, air travel was down over 96% when just 4,000 passengers hit the North Dakota skies.
Executive Director of the Airport Authority Shawn Dobberstein says passenger confidence is returning.
"It's our hope along with the airports across the county and the airlines that we work together to restore the confidence of the traveling public and that it is safe to fly even with the covid situation that we're in," says Dobberstein.
