GRAND FORKS — Pasta, salad, and breadsticks were on the menu today at the Grand Forks Fire Department, all in honor of their hard work this Labor Day.
"It's just important to keep them fed," said Olive Garden service manager Zack Aune. "We just feel that it's really important to come back and put something back into the community."
It's the 18th year Olive Garden has taken food to local first responders.
In Grand Forks, the food usually goes to firefighters, but they're open to sharing.
Bite by bite a few firefighters got to know a handful of Olive Garden staff. Firefighter Shane Wasylow said his favorite dish is the pasta.

"All about that fetttucini alfredo, always," said Wasylow.
They shared stories about their home towns and home countries. Sharing a meal, as thanks for their labor.
"We're always going to do what we do. But It feels pretty nice when people go out of their way to do stuff for us as well," said Wasylow.
Each of the more than 850 locations including the one here in Fargo passed out the pasta today.
The program started as a way to thank first responders on a day when they're not able to be with their families.
