FARGO - Otter Tail Corp. named Edward "Jim" McIntyre as president and CEO.

McIntyre was appointed interim CEO in September and has spent almost 30 years in the utility industry.

"As the search for a new CEO progressed, it became apparent to the board of directors that we already had the right person for the job," Nathan Partain, Otter Tail Corp.'s board chairman, said in a statement.

McIntyre has served on Otter Tail's board of directors for the past five years and will retain his seat.

"I'm grateful for the board of director's confidence in me," he said in a statement.

Otter Tail has corporate offices in Fergus Falls, Minn., and Fargo.
