The pandemic has changed the way people in our region are buying and selling homes.

Virtual reality is now a popular way hunt for a new home while social distancing.

Hommati, a real estate company in Fargo, saw virtual tour sales increase 350% since the beginning of the pandemic.

The company said it has seen plenty of people who bought a home without ever looking at it in person.

"Open houses and things like that are essentially being shut down. So they don't have to worry that their home will be on the market longer than anticipated," said Derek Felber, owner and operator of Hommati. "Bringing these technologies all together in one place for a listing ... the potential buyer gets the full experience of the home without having to leave home."

Felber said he thinks virtual showings will continue to be popular after the pandemic.
