FARGO — EagleRidge Plaza along the bustling Veterans Boulevard corridor is moving into an ambitious new phase of construction that will add four five-story, multi-use buildings and a nearly two-acre plaza to the two buildings already in place.
One building is already under construction in the $200 million Phase 2 project, while a second is being permitted. Two more buildings will be started in spring 2022, said Jon Youness, EagleRidge Development’s director of development.
By fall 2023, EagleRidge Plaza, which is just southeast of the intersection of 32nd Avenue South and Veterans Boulevard, should have six of the planned 10 buildings completed, Youness said Friday, Aug. 6.
He expects the full development to be completed in three to four years.
“We’ve seen tremendous growth in Fargo and think that’s going to continue. Obviously, the pandemic has impacted things and slowed down some construction (but) Fargo’s growth continues and we want to, especially in this part of town, make sure we are positioned and building projects that attract additional people to our community,” Youness said.
Each of the new buildings will have nearly 100 residential units, underground parking and more than 7,500 square feet of commercial space. The buildings will also offer amenities such as fitness centers, clubrooms, secure bike storage, WiFi lounges and outdoor terraces on the second floor.
The public plaza between the buildings will have spots to sit, green spaces and walking paths. It would be available for farmers markets, shows, food trucks and more.

“We believe that people are looking for a location (where) they can not only live but also have walkable dining options and gathering locations. We look at the plaza as an amenity not only for the future residents, but also the businesses to be able to attract people and utilize that space,” Youness said..
The first of the two 45,000-square-foot office buildings already at EagleRidge Plaza is 100% leased, while the second building, which is nearing completion, is 35% leased, Youness said.
EagleRidge works throughout the Fargo-Moorhead metro area, but Youness likes the growth along Veterans Boulevard.
“We’ve invested heavily along the Veterans corridor. We have multiple projects in this area and frankly (from) our office (at 3280 Veterans Blvd.), I’m looking out the window and watching construction happen on our third building,” he said.
“We look at Veterans as kind of the heart of the growth of the city of Fargo (and West Fargo) right now. There’s been a lot of activity both on the residential and the commercial side over the last handful of years," Youness continued. "Originally, it kind of got spurred on by Sanford building their large hospital here. Other businesses have relocated and you are starting to see a lot of amenities in terms of restaurants and housing and park facilities and other things."
“This … for the next handful of years, is going to be what we look at as the main growth spot of the community," he concluded.
