WEST FARGO-A sub shop in Fargo has given a nearly $10,000 grant to the West Fargo Fire Department to purchase life-saving equipment.
A short ceremony was held Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Firehouse Subs, 5676 26th Ave. S., Fargo, to celebrate the award.
A news release said the $9,621 gift included four task force kits, eight hard armor plates, four ballistic helmets, a trauma bag and nine identification panels. The equipment will be stored in the department's emergency medical service rescue vehicle to be used in the event of an active shooter situation.
The award comes from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, a nonprofit that's given more than $29.5 million to first responders and public safety organizations since it was founded in 2005.
