FARGO - Burgerim, a build-your-own “gourmet burger” franchise with a headquarters in Encino, Calif., appears to be coming to Fargo.
The company’s website says a Burgerim will be opening in 1650 45th St. S. in the Prairie Stone Center shopping mall.
An individual with the marketing department at Burgerim’s Encino office said Thursday, Aug. 15, that he did not have further information on the planned restaurant, such as the name of the owner or owners or when it would open. That information is released when the location reaches a later stage of development, the marketer said.

The company is known for making its burgers - mini burgers that are somewhat bigger than sliders - with several types of proteins, including salmon, chicken, lamb and dry-aged beef, and other ingredients, such as falafel. They are customized with a wide variety of toppings.
The menu also includes chicken wings and chicken strips, milk shakes, and sides such as French fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings.
Burgerim originated in Tel Aviv, Israel. The company has been franchising around the world since 2011, according to Franchise.com.
The first U.S. Burgerims were in southern California, before spreading around the country.
The Burgerim website says it has restaurants in 15 states and projects it will operate nearly 500 stores in the U.S. by the end of 2019, though it is not clear if that number will be actual stores open or if it includes stores that have been franchised, but not opened.
A potential franchisee needs to have $50,000 in cash. The total investment in the restaurant is estimated to range from $150,000 to $250,000, per the International Franchise Association and Franchise.com, though the Franchise Gator website says that the investment can be as high as $400,000.
