MOORHEAD - Swing Barrel Brewing Co. may not be ready to sling beer, but the downtown brewery and taphouse will be in good enough shape to act as a “warming house” for the Xcel Energy Holiday Lights Parade on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
“That’s just a fun little thing we’re doing. The parade starts right in front of where our brewery will be,” Swing Barrel Co-owner Sean Syverson said Wednesday, Nov. 13.
The brewery, at the front of the Wright Building at 814 Center Ave. “will be like a warming house” for the event, Syverson said.
There will be no house-made suds. Syverson said there are still some construction issues to work through before the business will be up and brewing, but the building will be “operational enough to give people a place to warm up.”
Earlier this month, Swing Barrel announced that the building would be open as a warming house starting at 4 p.m. A notice on Swing Barrel’s Facebook invites parade-goers to stop in for refreshments.
The annual parade is scheduled to run from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

The parade float lineup will be on Center Avenue between 8th Street and 11th Street. Once the parade starts, it will go west on Center Avenue, cross the bridge over the Red River and onto NP Avenue in Fargo. At the corner of NP Avenue and Broadway, the parade heads north on Broadway, ending at 6th Avenue North.
