FARGO — A local business is giving out thousands of free to-go containers to local restaurants in need.
Brenco Cleaning Equipment in Fargo is ordering 300 cases of the supplies, each with at least 200 boxes. They come with standard sized, disposable to-go boxes and sets of plastic cutlery.
Brenco's owner, Josh Green, hopes this helps locally-owned restaurants to make ends meet. He said all of them are being impacted by the pandemic and recent shutdowns.
"All that stuff effects us," Green said. "It affects them substantially more. They're losing thousands of dollars weekly and monthly. So if we can just help them absorb the costs, it keeps them in business, and ultimately they're our customers.
"These bars, these restaurants, these places that we all frequent, we tend to forget they're the ones that support our softball teams, support our bowling leagues, do all that kind of stuff," Green added.
Restaurant owners can visit Brenco, 2745 Main Ave. in Fargo, Monday, Nov. 23, through Wednesday, Nov. 25, to pick up the to-go boxes. Representatives are asked to bring along some form of proof of their restaurant like a business card or a menu. Green said this is otherwise a no-questions-asked operation.
