FARGO — A new Caribou Coffee cabin is set to open at 3071 25th St. S., Fargo building permit records indicate.
The new location, which records show will be a small drive-through and walk-up "Caribou Cabin," is currently being built at a cost of $156,000. A similar Caribou Cabin opened last year at 4475 31st Ave. S. The company first debuted the cabin concept in 2019, with the format making its debut in the Minnesota cities of Jordan, Burnsville, St. Peter, Big Lake and Willmar.
Minneapolis-based Caribou Coffee did not respond to several requests for confirmation or further information from The Forum.
Caribou Coffee currently has 17 Fargo-Moorhead area locations, including one on the North Dakota State University campus and several located inside grocery stores in the metro area.
One of those grocery store locations is inside the Family Fare which will share the First Center South plaza with the Caribou Cabin once it opens. Whether or not the Family Fare location will close as a result of the new cabin opening is unknown.
The approximate opening date for the new Caribou Cabin could not be determined. Site work was underway at the location Tuesday, July 27.
