GRAND FORKS - Sanders restaurant has been renovated, relocated and renamed.
Sky's Fine Dining, named after the new owner, John “Sky” Manske, is replacing the Sanders name long associated with the restaurant.
Located at 322 DeMers Ave., Skys occupies the second floor of the former First National Bank building and opens its doors to the public Monday.
Manske announced the new name at a “mock trial opening” Tuesday before a crowd of about 110, he said.
“It’s time for a change,” he said.

Manske had been head waiter of the former Sanders 1907 for more than a decade. He bought the restaurant last year from Kim Holmes, who owned and operated Sanders since 1989.
At the time, Manske named the restaurant Sanders 322 DeMers.
