WEST FARGO-Sandy's Donuts' apple cluster was recently named to the Bloomberg News food editor's "Best Dishes I ate in 2017" list.
The list contains foods from all over the world.
Editor Kate Krader wrote that Sandy's is a "no-frills shop" and the apple cluster is the size of a "small skating rink."
Mark Ostlund, owner of Sandy's Donuts, said he was surprised the donate did so well because it's actually just made from pieces of leftover dough. "You bunch it all together with apple filling and then you just smash it together, and you make it really ugly and the uglier it is, the better it tastes," said Mark Ostlund, Owner of Sandy's Donuts. Krader said, "to stop eating them, is impossible."
